Monthly Scripture: “Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:” (Isaiah 59:1)

MOTTO SCRIPTURE

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Heb. 12:14)

Hope In God

“Therefore seeing that we have this ministry, as we have received…but we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair. Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.”
(2 Cor. 4:1-10)

  • Troubled (afflict, suffer tribulation)
  • Distressed (feeling or showing extreme unhappiness or pain, suffering that affects the mind or body, worried)
  • Perplexed (be at a loss mentally, stand in doubt)
  • Despair (to be utterly at a loss; the complete loss or absence of hope. To no longer have any hope or belief that a situation will improve or change)
  • Persecute (hostility and ill-treatment; to treat someone cruelly or unfairly)
  • Forsaken (to leave, abandoned)
  • Cast down (thrown down)
  • Destroyed (die, perish, put an end to the existence; to ruining completely)

Trouble does come, but we are not in distress. We have been perplexed, but we are not in despair. We have been persecuted, but we are not forsaken. And we have been cast down, but we are not destroyed because our hope is in God. So remember, when distress, despair, or feeling forsaken or destroyed comes your way, always remember that God is on your side no matter the situation; your hope IS IN GOD.

“Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest in hope.” (Psalm 16:9)

A Mind To Finish

On your Mark, Get ready, Get Set, Go!!!!

As the whistle blows, we all start the race with the same goal in mind – “To Win.” Somewhere along the way, we often take on a different goal – “To Finish.” It is often quoted that the race is not given to the swift, nor to the strong, but to the one who endures to the end. This however is a combination of portion of scriptures combined to get a point across. The point being that we just have to be determined to finish the race.

There are principles for running and winning this race. The rules and guidelines are written in the word of God. We just have to decide and prepare that no matter what comes or goes, we are going to finish this course. Whatever obstacles you may come up against, know that Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

You have a race to run. You have a ministry to fulfill. It has been given to you by the Lord of all the earth. It is your life’s calling and was given to you by your Creator. There is a prize that is worth winning. It isn’t easy. But it is worth the effort. Fulfill your ministry.

Be Blessed.

Lighthouse

There is a song that the church used to sing that says, “Shine on me, Shine on me, Let the light from the lighthouse shine on me”. A lighthouse is a tower with an extremely strong light that serves as a navigational aid. It also warns of dangerous hazards.

If the light from God’s lighthouse were to shine on you, what would we see? Would we see the image of Christ, or would we see the world? The pattern of light that comes from God’s lighthouse is a fixed, steady beam that directs our footsteps. His word is our lighthouse, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Ps 119:105); “The entrance of thy words giveth light… ” (Ps 119:130). If we would just follow the light that God has provided we could stay on the right path and when the light from the Lighthouse is shined on us, the people will see the image of Christ and not the world.

Just Believe

“If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” (Mark 9:23).
One of the greatest things we can do as Christians is to just believe in God. It is so simple to just believe in God. We believe for everything else (i.e., the chair will hold our weight; the key is going to turn when we stick it in the lock, etc.), why can’t we just believe what God says? We can believe for others, but we find it hard to believe for ourselves.

Some things we feel are just impossible to happen for ourselves. God has always done the impossible. Abraham had a child at the age of one hundred years old (impossible), feeding over five thousand people with two fish and five loaves of bread (impossible), turning water into wine (impossible), Resurrection (impossible), yet they all happened because someone believed.

If we read the Bible and believe what it says, why can we not believe God for our circumstances? Sometimes we make things so difficult because we have doubt, fear and unbelief. Unbelief is one of the things that grieves the heart of God. Our unbelief hinders things.

God never has failed and never will. If He promised it, He is sure to do it. Don’t be fearful, doubtful, untrusting and wavering. Just Believe…

The Wrong/Right Way

Many times God gives us a directive, and we think that it is the wrong way to go because we are looking at it through our natural eyes. God tells us to go left, and we know that our house is on the right. Our perception of the directive is that it has to be wrong. We will say I just went there yesterday and I had to go to the right. Going to the left to get back to the right does not make sense to us, and it seems as if God is taking us out of our way to reach the desired destination. God knows that what we perceive to be the wrong way is actually the right way for us to go.

You would not think that when God told Moses to camp by the Red Sea that this would be the right way to go. The land of the Philistines was closer and what seemed to be an easier route to travel. God had a shortcut that the Israelites could not see with their natural eyes. This is why they murmured and complained, as many of us do.

When God opens our eyes to actually see the miraculous route he has provided, we will be happy to know that we have traveled the wrong/right way.
